本文报道分别取自妊娠10周及16周的胎儿心肌组织块,在一般啮齿动物心肌细胞培养条件下进行培养,出现了自发搏动。搏动频率分别为21~27次/分和200~290次/分。前者连续搏动30天后,人为终止培养。后者中有一细胞团块,连续搏动长达75天,自行停止。由于组织块取材厚薄及形态不同,培养后团块生长方式亦有差别。较厚的组织块生长较慢,以后纤维母细胞及心肌细胞可呈放射状生长,亦可呈索条状向外伸延;边缘较薄的组织块,心肌细胞在早期从边缘呈球形突出,然后脱落生长。较薄层组织块由于周围纤维母细胞很快长满后,心肌组织则不断加厚生长。本文认为心肌组织块培养的优点是操作简便,搏动明显并相对稳定,持续时间较长。但是提高心肌纯度和做心肌细胞计数、定量试验,尚有一定困难。
