从严格意义上说,马克思并没有讨论过艺术的终结问题。但是,他从技术角度讨论艺术的进步却透露出可以从我们今天的艺术终结视阈审视的线索,即技术的发展在决定艺术的发生发展的同时,也会带来某些艺术门类或样式的终结。除此之外,从今天的艺术终结的视野,我们还能够发现,他的资本主义生产与艺术相敌对的思想在一定程度上拓宽了黑格尔意义上的艺术终结观的传统视野。他的世界文学的观念预示了旧的封闭性的文学形态的结束、新的文学势态的出现,这一思考可以为当下的艺术终结命题的子命题即文学终结命题提供补充。
In the strict sense, Marx did not discuss the end of art.
