The path taken by the humanities and social sciences so far has been to put Europe at the center of scientific discussions, thereby undermining the rest of the continent and other cultures in the world, the latter down to the edge of intellectual reconsideration and knowledge production. This Eurocentrism is evident in the economic, social, cultural, political and religious fields. The relationship between Africa and Europe is a thought-provoking example. The recent crisis is not only a financial and economic crisis, but also a cultural and, more generally, a social crisis, reflecting a loss of consciousness due to the attempts to standardize the cultures of the world. This standardization is triggered by accelerated globalization, which has led to the dehumanization of the relations among individuals, nations and nations. It is imperative to undertake a paradigm shift through the reconstruction of humanities and social sciences. This paradigm shift is a polycentrism based on the world’s linguistic and cultural diversity that strengthens the peace in the world by strengthening the dialogue among cultures and civilizations.
