目前国內外普遍采用的砂岩分类乃是按物貭成分的分类。这些分类由于主要只考虑了砂岩的碎屑矿物成分,因而对其成因条件的反映有一定局限性。此种缺点在研究陆相沉积和构造活动較剧烈地区的沉积时表現得尤其突出。近年来,国外的一些学者已认識到这种缺点,开始探討更为合理的砂岩成因分类,但因所提方案存在有缺点,仍未受到人們的重視。作者在工作中深感已有分类的上述缺点,根据工作中的实际材料并参考已有分类的优点,試提了一个砂岩分类草案。1962年至1963年作者用
At present, the classification of sandstone commonly used at home and abroad is based on the classification of material composition. Since these categories mainly consider the detrital mineral composition of sandstone, they have some limitations on their causal conditions. Such shortcomings are especially pronounced when studying the deposition of continental deposits and tectonically active areas.
