本课题着重研究了处理金川尾矿的两种方法。一是用生石灰与尾矿和骨料中的二氧化硅反应生成硅酸盐类人造石材──尾矿砖,并通过中试生产和与实际相符合的检测手段,证明此法经济、社会、环境效益明显,是治理废弃尾矿的一种可行方法。二是以水玻璃为粘结剂固化尾矿,通过机械性能的测试、红外光谱分析、差热分析、热膨胀分析等测试手段研究了水玻璃加热固化尾矿的形式、紧实度的变化规律、材料成型特点以及内部结构等,说明用这种方法可以制成具有一定强度和综合性能的材料。
