流星余迹通信的研究始于五十年代初期,由于具有明显的军用目的,因而当时技术上是严格保密的。五十年代末解密,到了六十年代才出现两个试验性的通信系统(即加拿大的JANET系统和欧洲盟军最高司令部的COMET系统)。七十年代美国研制出了新一代设备,建立了民用的SNOTEL系统,还完成了一批民用和军用的工程建设任务。本文先介绍美国及美军七十年代以来流星余迹通信的应用情况,并以美国流星余迹通信(MCC)公司生产的MCC—500系列设备为代表,对军用设备作一简介,以供参考。
Meteor remnants of communication research began in the early 1950s, because of the obvious military purpose, so was technically strictly confidential. By the late 1950s, it was not until the 1960s that two experimental communications systems (the JANET system in Canada and the COMET system in the highest command of the European Allied Forces) emerged. Seventies the United States has developed a new generation of equipment, the establishment of civilian SNOTEL system, also completed a number of civil and military engineering construction tasks. This article first introduces the application of the meteor trace in the United States and the U.S. military since the seventies. Based on the MCC-500 series produced by the American Meteor Trace Communications Corporation (MCC), a brief introduction of military equipment is provided for reference.
