光导板是由高透明无定型高聚合物制作而成的。其基本结构是:板材由三层组成,中间一层叫芯层,是光的传导层,由高折射率的高聚合物组成,芯层两面各一层叫皮层,是光的反射层,由低折射率的高聚合物组成。这种结构,保证了光在板中是全反射传导。传导过程中光的衰减极小。并且具有在弯曲状态下传输光的优良特性。如果在板的横截面上给个条形光源,光就能在两皮层之间振荡传播,使整个板面充满了光,
