Recent advances in research on diseases of prion (prion) have raised public health concerns and there is growing evidence that transmissible species of variability Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (v CJD) accumulate in infected individuals Lymph reticuloendothelial tissue, such as the appendix and tonsil. These emissions have significant resistance to the standard sterilization methods currently being used in hospital disinfection supplies. This article describes a method for the diagnosis of v CJD by tonsil biopsy and discusses the safety of repeated use of tonsillectomy surgical instruments. In order to avoid the spread of such a very troublesome disease, otolaryngologists should have adequate knowledge of v CJD.
