用农药防治蔬菜病虫害,对提高蔬菜品质和产量具有重要作用。但是,由于绝大多数农药有毒,加之蔬菜使用农药的时间长、数量大,因此蔬菜产品沾污农药的机率高。许多蔬菜如番茄、黄瓜和萝卜等往往作生食用,直接入口,如果带有农药残毒,就会直接影响人畜健康。所以在蔬菜生产上正确使用农药,是一个很重要的问题。为了防止农药污染蔬菜,首先必须了解农药的性质,哪些农药能用于蔬菜,哪些不能用。其次还应懂得农药在不同蔬菜上的使用方法,如施用量、农药浓度和施用时期等。
