作为目前国内唐代地宫仅存的两个舍利宝帐之一,建于武则天时期的庆山寺地宫释迦如来舍利宝帐涅槃图像的时空叙事有自己独特的顺序和模式。关于学术界一直有争论的舍利宝帐上两次出现的“持麈尾帝王形象及其配对帝王形象”的身份问题,笔者经过仔细考证,得出了自己的结论:即持麈尾的帝王形象应该为帝释天,而配对的未持麈尾的帝王并非梵天而是世俗的帝王“帝释天”和中原皇帝的配对,代表了释迦入灭天人和世俗共同举哀,天界和人间共同见证和参与佛陀涅槃这一重大事件。
