汉朝时期,丝路贸易架起了中西交流的桥梁。欧洲古国的某些物品就是通过这条途径输入中国的。这个时期,欧洲酿制的古酒就出现在大汉朝廷之中。据汉朝人郭宪《汉武洞冥记》(又名《别国洞冥记》)卷二记载:“瑶琨去玉门九万里,有碧草如麦,割之酿酒,味之醇酎。”瑶琨,古地名,在古罗马西北,其方位难以确定,估计为外高卢,即今阿尔卑斯山以北的广大地区,大体包括今法国、比利时、卢森堡及荷兰、瑞士的一部分。
