铁合金电炉,一般多用具有铁皮外壳的连续式自焙电极,简称自焙电极,以与预焙之厂墨或炭质电级相区别。其电流密度之选择,一般多认为近似定值,其范围甚小。例如:(一)苏联资料介绍:大型炉为4.0~5.5安/厘米~2,中型炉为5~7安/厘米~2。(二)英美资料:介绍为4.95~5.95安/厘米~2(按原式电极载流量:I=25~30D_E2折算,式中 D_E~2单位为时。另介绍以铝皮作壳者,其电密可达10安/厘米~2。)
