High-paying second-class citizens in Hollywood After the fall of the black movement after the 1970s, the Negro returned to their original position on the screen and only played a small part. Although the social conditions of black Americans and society have greatly improved their attitudes towards blacks today, the black image has been gradually increasing and gradually getting better in Hollywood films. However, racial discrimination still exists in the movie industry. Just a few days before the Academy Awards were announced in March of this year, People Weekly published a large article entitled “Shadow of Hollywood”, slamming the discrimination against blacks in the U.S. film industry. In this Oscar award process, several outstanding black actors such as Denzel Washington and Angela Bassett were not nominated. According to “People” magazine statistics, only 2.3% of film directors in the United States and less than 2.6% of the screenwriter is black. This phenomenon reflects the apartheid in the cultural field.
