In science and technology, Bell (or decibel) can be said to be a multipurpose unit. Acoustics, sound pressure level and sound intensity level units are decibels; in electronic technology, the amplifier power gain, voltage gain is also used for decibel units; decay network power attenuation or voltage decay are also expressed in decibels. What are the characteristics of this unit and why these different physical quantities use the same unit? Bell is a logarithmic scale unit that is a unit used in electricity and acoustics to measure the ratio of power or power density. It is a transliteration of English bel. It was named after Bell, the telephone inventor. One-tenth of a bell is 1 dB, expressed in symbols dB.
