Objective To investigate the expression and significance of kank1 gene in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods A total of 74 NSCLC specimens were selected in this study. Twenty normal lung tissues were selected as the control group. KANK1 protein expression was detected by tissue microarray and immunohistochemical SP method. Combined with clinical data analysis of kank1 and non-small cell lung cancer related to the occurrence and development. Results The positive expression rates of kank1 in cytoplasm were 50.0% (37/74) and 90.0% (18/20) in non-small cell lung cancer and normal lung tissues, respectively. The difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). There was no significant difference of kank1 in NSCLC with age, gender, pathological type, degree of differentiation and lymph node metastasis (P <0.05). Conclusions The expression of kank1 is down-regulated or inactivated in non-small cell lung cancer tissues, indicating that kank1 may play an important role in the development of non-small cell lung cancer.
