Based on the view of moral history, the issue of human nature has always been a common logic that many outstanding western historians have uncovered the historical cause-effect relationship. Tacitus emphasizes the profound influence and serious constraints from the tyranny of the tyrant and villain and other evil forces on the fate of individuals and tries to analyze the various weaknesses of the parties themselves and the series of deadly consequences from the perspective of human nature. In this sense, the theory of human nature embodies Tacitus’s moral criticism and radical criticism of the reality of corruption and degradation in the imperial era.
