Shanghai University in the 1920s made a great contribution to the anti-imperialist and anti-feudal democratic revolution. Shanghai University teachers and students founded many journals, including “Shanghai University Weekly”, “Lone Star”, “Zhongshan doctrine”, “Xiang Feng” and so on more than 10 species. These self-running periodicals as first-hand information, faithfully recorded the situation in Shanghai University, vividly reflected the thoughts of teachers and students at that time. The articles published in the periodicals run by Shanghai University were mostly political-oriented, revealing that the most important crisis of that time came from the imperialists and the reactionary warlords, advocating the cooperation between Kuomintang and the Communist Party and the national revolution. These propositions are more in line with the CPC’s position on the current situation, indicating the control and influence of the CCP organizations on these publications. The literary articles published in the publications of Shanghai University show that young people in Shanghai University were greatly influenced by the social ideological trends at that time and in turn promoted the surging of these thoughts.
