The closure of the western United States has come to an end and the various countries have begun to count the losses. Jiang Lili, vice chairman of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, said the work-load has caused losses to Hong Kong exporters totaling over 10 billion Hong Kong dollars. Taiwan, on the other hand, estimates that the direct loss of the port of import and export in 10 days will be about 380 million U.S. dollars. Some mainland shipping companies said that the damage caused by the West Coast wave work to some shipping companies could amount to hundreds of millions of U.S. dollars. In the meantime, many exporters and importers are also affected. According to some foreign agencies, it is estimated that by the end of the year it is estimated that the U.S. West Coast port will be fully restored to normal due to the time needed to clear the backlog of containers and the uncertainties surrounding the closure of the port after the 80-day cooling-off period. In other words, the peak of the U.S. Christmas holidays may be greatly affected.
