对教育家的研究有助于增进对图书馆学芝加哥学派形成的认知。1932-1942年,路易斯·威尔逊任芝加哥大学图书馆学研究生院院长。在此期间,他的图书馆学教育思想与实践主要体现在:面向社会和未来变化的教育宗旨;倡导以学术研究为核心的图书馆学教育;建立图书馆学教学与研究的合作交流机制。在威尔逊带领下,芝加哥大学图书馆学研究生院大力开展面向社会的人才培养与学术研究,促进了图书馆学与整个社会以及社会科学的融合。
Research on educators helps to increase awareness of the formation of the Chicago School of Library Science. From 1932 to 1942, Louis Wilson was Dean of the Graduate School of Library Science at the University of Chicago. During this period, his thought and practice of library science education mainly embodies in the following aspects: education purpose oriented to society and future change; education advocating library science centered on academic research; and establishing cooperation and exchange mechanism of library science teaching and research. Under Wilson’s leadership, the Graduate School of Library Science at the University of Chicago promotes social studies and academic research, and promotes the integration of library science with society as a whole as well as with the social sciences.
