穗果2号是从广东桑自然杂交后代实生桑中筛选出的挂果多、果型大的优良单株经培育和品比试验后选育而来。其经济性状好,座果率90.2％,平均单芽座果数6粒/芽,果长径4.1～5.8cm,果横径1.4～2.0cm,果形长圆筒形,单果重4.0～11.0g,盛熟期平均单果重8.0g,二年生植株米条产果量1097.10g。鲜榨果汁糖度9.0％～15.0％,酸度1.69g/L～3.90g/L。糖酸比3.08～5.30,pH4.5～5.4,色素含量OD538吸光值为120～270,出汁率70％～78％。
