Objective To investigate the effect of age and salt intake on blood pressure in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR). Methods Male spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) of different ages were used as models of hypertension. All age groups were randomly divided into low salt (0.5% NaCL) group and high salt diet (4% NaCL) After the intervention of low salt and high salt, the systolic pressure of SHR tail artery in 10-week-old, 20-week-old and 3-week-old aged rats was observed by using the tail sphygmomanometer and the systolic blood pressure of SHR Variety. 50 Results ① As the age of SHR increased, BP gradually increased. The blood pressure of 20-week-old SHR group was significantly higher than that of 10-week-old SHR group (167.1 ± 8.9mmHg vs. 151.0 ± 25.6mmHg, P <0.05) 12.9 mmHg vs. 167.1 ± 8.9 mmHg, P <0.05). ② Compared with low-salt group, high-salt group had different levels of blood pressure. Compared with the low-salt group, the high-salt group had a trend of increasing blood pressure 10 weeks (147.6 ± 12.2mmHg vs. 174.1 ± 28.0, <0.05). Compared with the SHR of the low-salt group (169.1 ± 11.1 vs. 189.2 ± P11.1, <0.05). Compared with the low-salt group, the 50-week-old high-salt group had a significantly higher blood pressure (173.2 ± 9.6 mmHg vs. 207.9 ± 18.8 mmHg, P <0.05). The results showed that the blood pressure of SHR increased gradually with the increase of age P; the high salt diet could cause the SHR blood pressure of different ages increased, and the salt sensitivity of blood pressure increased with the increase of age.
