The conference was sponsored by China Optical Society, Fudan University, Shanghai Institute of Laser Technology, Shanghai Optical Institute and the Shanghai Institute of Laser co-sponsored and supported by the Chinese Physics Society, the American Optical Society and other agencies. More than 300 delegates attended the conference, including about one-third of foreign delegates.
