Lymphangiogenesis is an important pathway of tumor metastasis. With the discovery of more and more lymphatic vessel markers, the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor C (VEGF-C) and receptor vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 3 in tumor lymphangiogenesis, Great progress has been made in the mechanism of action in lymph node metastasis. The expression of VEGF-C is closely related to clinicopathological features such as lymphatic metastasis, perivascular lymphatic vessel density and survival rate in gastric cancer. In addition, experimental animal models and in vitro studies have shown that inhibition of VEGF-C expression in the treatment of gastric cancer has a certain application prospects. Now VEGF-C and lymph node metastasis of gastric cancer were reviewed.
