After the Seventy-Seven Incident, China entered a period of arduous and complete resistance to Japan. Due to the long-planned and well-prepared Japanese invaders, they quickly occupied the prosperous and affluent areas of southern China in the east. The total length of the railway in these areas accounted for about 80% of the time; the loss of Wuhan and Guangzhou took the coastal ports along the coast, and the National Government relied on inland shipping and ocean shipping to be cut off. In addition, at the time, China’s aviation industry was underdeveloped, In the meantime, relying on road transport is particularly important. This article intends to give a brief commentary on the development of Sichuan’s highway construction and its contribution to the war of resistance.
