On April 27, 2014, India conducted an inter-Atmospheric Earth Defense Interceptor (PDV) interception test. In this test, the Indian Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) fired a target missile on a patrol vessel about 70 km from the Bay of Whela in the Bay of Bengal to simulate medium-range ballistic missiles with a range of more than 2000 km. The ground-based radar system detects and tracks the target bomb and predicts the trajectory of the target bomb. After 150 s of target launch, a PDV was launched from the integrated test site at Wheeler Island. When the PDV interceptors fly out of the atmosphere, the fairing separates, the infrared seeker and the inertial guidance detect the projectile
