Intel Corporation describes a blueprint for the silicon architecture planned for network hardware manufacturers, a modular technology that enables manufacturers to develop products faster. Intel Corporation announced its IXA (Internet Exchange Architecture) architecture at the Intel Developer Conference, and the company plans to offer a wide variety of communications chips to enable network equipment manufacturers to manufacture everything from Ethernet switches to load-level switches and border routers.
