The key to interpreting Blake’s poetry is to grasp his “Song of Naiveness and Experience”. The song of innocence symbolizes innocence and purity of the human being’s newborn state. Song of Experience depicts the secular life under the state of experience. Two groups of poetic images have more confrontation, the most obvious and most concerned about is the opposition of the lamb and the tiger. This series of opposite images symbolizes the two opposing states of human souls. This article explores Black’s analysis of the different states of human souls through the analysis of Lambs and Tigers.
