OBJECTIVE: To study the changes of leukocytes in peripheral blood of stationed workers at different altitudes and to analyze the effects of training time and altitude on leukocytes. Methods: The trained personnel were divided into permanent high altitude workers and rapid high altitude workers for three months as the boundary to analyze the influence of altitude on leukocytes. Results: The leukocytes were all elevated to varying degrees in rescued trainees at different altitudes and different stationing times, which were significantly higher than those in the Mainland (P <0.05). The total number of leukocytes in the resident plateau was significantly higher than that in the hurried plateau (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: The leukocyte counts in the stationed workers were significantly increased in the plateau environment. The total number of leukocytes in the resident plateau was significantly higher than that in the rapid plateau and was closely related to the altitude.
