The “Antitrust Law of the People’s Republic of China” (hereinafter referred to as the “Anti-monopoly Law”) has been examined and adopted by the 29th meeting of the 10th NPC Standing Committee and will go into effect on August 1 this year. As a core part of the competition policy in a mature market economy, the antitrust law is the inherent and essential need of the market economy and the basic law for safeguarding the free market mechanism, even as the “economic constitution”. The birth of the “Anti-monopoly Law” can be called a milestone in the process of China’s economic reform. It means that the relevant laws and regulations on the socialist market economy in our country are even more mature.
