The fate study on Taiwan’s Hohai River Transport System is an integrated research plan of “from source to sink”, including three separate plans FATES-KP, FATES-COMMARC and FATES-HYPER, which have been in operation for nine years since 2003 , Rolling development stage by stage, has made numerous research results. The research project attempts to find out the material dispersion mechanism of sediments between mountain runoff, narrow shelves, slopes and submarine canyons in the setting of an active tropical monsoon climate and frequent typhoon-infested weak coastal waters. With the deepening of the research, the research area gradually expanded to the north of the South China Sea, the Taiwan Strait and the Okinawa Trough, and stood out from the research in the South China Sea “from source to sink”. By reviewing the fate integration research project of Taiwan’s river-sea transport system, this paper briefly analyzes its research methods, contents, achievements and problems encountered in order to provide a reference for the study of “from source to sink” in the northern South China Sea. .
