The African economy has weathered thestorm. However, ZhangZhongxiang, Deputy Director of Centerfor West Asian and African Studies ofShanghai Institutes for International Studies,maintains that adverse impacts of theworld economic crisis on the weak Africaneconomy are severe, even hindering therealization of the Millennium DevelopmentGoals, despite the rapid revival of itseconomy.
