Granting and receiving verbs are one of the unique and important grammatical phenomena in Japanese. In addition to the meaning of “delivery and acceptance” of the object, the verbs in Japanese also reflect the consciousness of grace that is unique to the Japanese. The Japanese people’s sense of grace can be traced back to about the 8th century AD. The consciousness of grace runs through all aspects of the Japanese language, life, and ideology, and plays an important role in the daily life of the Japanese. In the actual language communication with Japanese people, we will find that Japanese people pay much attention to each other’s feelings when they speak. They often adopt modest manners, euphemistically speaking manners, and communicate with others in a prudent manner. The Japanese also cherish the favors of others. When there are acts of grace, they will be very active in using the forms of expression of acceptance, and paying particular attention to the conversion of the consciousness of grace. With the transfer of grace, language will also change accordingly. All of these fully reflect the inseparable relationship between grant verbs and the Japanese people’s sense of grace.
