The coordinated development of the regions is an important aspect of promoting the healthy and sustainable development of the Chinese economy. This paper empirically analyzes the impact of different ownership on the provincial economic convergence. Using the method of weighted coefficient of variation, the conclusion that the secondary industry has the greatest influence on the inter-provincial economic disparity is reached, which still accounts for more than 80% of the total in 2010. On the basis of this research, this paper uses the economic center of gravity method to study the role played by the state-owned economy and the non-state-owned economy in China’s economic regional disparity at the same time. The research shows that the state-owned economy is pushing the center of China’s industrial economy to move to the west and plays a positive role in resolving the economic gap between the eastern and western regions in China. This study finds that, on the whole, the economic disparity between regions has shown a convergence trend. The decomposition of the ownership structure shows that although the state-owned economy still has gaps in different regions, there is no obvious non-state economy. Non-state-owned economy is the main factor causing the regional economic disparity. In 2011, 85% of the industrial economy disparity in different provinces can be covered by non- Economic differences are explained. In this paper, the statistical analysis of the coefficient of variation of the industrial added value data of different ownership per province with provincial average per capita is also made, which is basically in line with the conclusion of the above research.
