机械工业的任务,是按国民经济各部门提出的要求,提供技术先进、经久耐用、安全可靠的机械产品然而,由于每一种机械设备都经历过开发规划、设计、选材、加工制造、装配、包装、贮存、运输、安装、试运行、使用和维修等复杂的过程,而每一过程中所产生的任何差错、偏差、缺陷和损伤,都可能构成促使机械设备失效的隐患。因此,机械设备始终存在失效的危险,在技术上要求机械产品达到100%的可靠性是不可能的。为了防止或延缓机械产品的失效,提高机械产品的使用寿命和可靠性,一定要重视对机械产品失效的分析和研究工作。失效分析是提高质量和可靠性的一个重要环节。
