当输油管道压力瞬时升高且超过泄压阀预先设定的压力值时,压力将通过泄压阀泄放至泄放管道或储油罐中,使输油管道得到有效保护。但是,泄压阀发生渗漏比较频繁,往往影响其功能的有效性。通过对渗漏泄压阀进行解体观察,发现密封面损坏是其渗漏的主要原因。而导致密封面损坏的原因有3个:弹簧刚度降低和固体颗粒卡阻造成的锥头复位不到位;密封部件因老化、被固体颗粒磨损而损坏;油品内含有微小固体颗粒,管道过滤器无法将其滤除,导致密封不严,引起渗漏。提出的应对措施包括:留足备件,及时更换;泄压阀动作后做稳压试验;在泄压阀前安装过滤器。
