The military alliance between the United States and Europe (in this article, Europe only refers to the EU) has a long history. Recently, however, many commenters on both sides of the Atlantic have pointed out that at present there is a widening gap between the military capabilities of Europe and the United States. It seems that the military cooperation across the Taiwan Strait is going to be hard to come by.
