In order to understand the prognosis of renal dysfunction caused by cadmium, the author analyzed the physical examination data of 21 cases who were followed up for 9 ~ 14 years in cadmium contaminated area of Ishikawa Prefecture, and compared their serum creatinine and arterial blood pH Changes in the period. The 21 patients (6 males and 15 females) were diagnosed with tubular dysfunction in the early 1970s after long-term ingestion of cadmium-contaminated rice. First check the age of 51 to 78 years old. Since 1977, the soil in the paddy-polluted paddy fields has been removed in the area for uncontaminated soil. The determination of cadmium in rice in 1980 has dropped to non-contaminated areas. The authors consider the date when the group started to eat rice with a similar level of cadmium in the non-contaminated area (the year is not specified in the text) as starting to leave the cadmium exposure time.
