元曲作家王实甫在《董西厢》的基础上进行再创造,谱成了被视为元曲“压卷”之作的《西厢记》杂剧,故事的来源是中唐元稹的传奇小说《莺莺传》(亦名《会真记》)。王实甫再创造时虽不可避免地带有自己所处时代的文化烙印,然而也力求让剧中人物生活在唐代的社会环境中。唐代的社会生活形态、风尚习俗今天有一部分被继承下来了,有一部分却改变了,有的则灭亡了。 Wang Shih-fu, the writer of Yuan Qu, re-created on the basis of “Dong Xixiang,” and became the “Western Chamber” drama considered as the “Yuan Juan” by Yuan Dynasties.
