泡桐,生长快,适应性较强,材质好,经济价值高,很受群众欢迎。但是,泡桐具有假二叉分枝和间歇性抽枝接干的特性,如任其自然生长,往往长不成良好的干型。解决这一问题,应从培养高干壮苗入手。去年,我们和马岭岗公社四张大队二队、小留公社邢楼大队三队的林业科研组,共同进行了试验,取得良好的结果。例如邢楼大队二队,去年育了七分泡桐埋根苗,共410株,其中3—4米高的300株,占73％;4—5米高的50株,占12％;5米以上的有10株,占2.4％。最大胸径7厘米,最大根径9厘米。
