一、当前国内外尚未解决的技术问题随着经济的发展和人民生活的提高,食物结构将发生变化,对蔬菜品种高质量和多样化的要求更为迫切。当前在食物中增加营养价值高,味道鲜美的蔬菜类豌豆的比重以适应外贸出口的需要,显得十分必要。而食荚和食苗的菜豌又为蔬菜豆类及瓜、叶、根菜类中较好的蔬菜品种,因此,对豌豆青荚、青苗的数量和质量的要求日益提高。但长期以来,食荚和食苗菜豌在我国只作为小宗菜栽培,品种单一,产量低,(一般亩产只有800余斤)品质差,成熟期晚,远远满足不了需要。尤其是现在国内外优良蔬菜豌豆品种,普遍存在植株太高(120厘米以上),花为紫色,品质(含蛋白质只有17.9%左右)食味差,成熟期
