A new study found that improper brushing easily lead to excessive plaque or oral bacteria, thereby increasing the risk of cancer premature death by 80%. Swedish scientists have been conducting a 24-year follow-up study of 1390 Stockholm participants drawn randomly since 1985. At the beginning of the study, participants were 30 to 40 years old. Researchers conducted a questionnaire survey of participants, covering cancer risk factors such as smoking. The researchers also tested the oral health of the participants to determine if plaque, periodontal disease and tooth loss were present.
