Sometimes used to describe areas of relatively low salinity, the “low salt zone” is not based on a quantitative basis nor a specific sea area and is therefore not a mature concept in oceanography. There is no special research on the low salt area in the traditional oceanographic theory research and the low salt area has not been regarded as an important ocean phenomenon.
