Q: How did you go to the Hughes Institute? What important work was done in the lab? A: In 1950 I worked in the laboratory of the Naval Institute of Washington, where my leadership was hired to travel to California to establish a centimeter wave technique for Hughes. Research laboratory. Several assistants traveled with me, and I remained in Washington and continued to work for two years in the Admiralty until 1952 when my former leader took a post for me at Hughes. This microwave laboratory mainly develops radar systems for controlling fighter rockets. My own job is to measure the electromagnetic properties of insulators (dielectrics, ferrites) used in centimeter-wave technology components. Later I served as a deputy director of a room that studied the interaction of materials and centimeter waves and also studied masers. At that time, it was suggested to use a maser as a low-noise preamplifier for centimeter-band receivers. We have also made available red
