Objective To investigate the relationship between serum electrolytes and prognosis in children with severe pneumonia. Methods A total of 268 children with pneumonia were scored for critically ill children. The critically ill patients and the critically ill patients were severe pneumonia patients. The non-critically ill patients as control group. All children were measured for serum sodium, potassium, calcium and chloride levels, the relationship between electrolyte levels and prognosis was analyzed. Results The levels of serum sodium, calcium and chloride in severe group were significantly lower than those in control group (P <0.01), while there was no significant difference in serum potassium level (P> 0.05). Severe group, recovery and improvement in children, the effect is not obvious and the death of children with serum sodium, potassium, calcium and chlorine were no significant difference (Pa> 0.05), but the effect is not obvious with the death of children with serum sodium, potassium , Calcium and chloride levels were significantly lower than the recovery and improvement of children (Pa <0.01). Conclusion The level of serum electrolytes in children with severe pneumonia is closely related to the severity and prognosis of the disease. The detection of serum electrolytes is of great significance for the correct assessment of the disease and the guiding treatment.
