汽车制造厂在批量生产启动之前有必要对供货厂的状况进行检查,来考核供货厂是否能确保其在随后的批量生产运行速度下保持良好的供货状态。这项考核是通过批量试生产或称两日(2-TP)生产这一方法来完成的。两日生产这一方法同时适用于外购件和自制件。它是在批量生产条件下进行的。就是说,所有的设备,工具,装配过程,传输系统,工装器具,包装及质量检验必须是符合批量生产状态的!这种对于生产手段成熟性的检验,实际上涉及到批产前期所有准备工作的验收。而两日生产则是验收的基本依据。通过两日生产这一方法,零部件制造过程的可靠运行和产品质量将得到验证,同时也证实了供货厂是否能稳定地按照批量生产所要求的供货数量来供货。和汽车制造厂的零批量生产一样,两日生产是供货厂批量生产前的总演习。总演习意思是:在批量生产所要求的供货数量条件下,对其整个制造过程的可靠性和批量生产的适宜性的最后考核。
