In this paper, in-depth mechanical analysis of the existing three-dimensional method of measuring fracturing hydraulic fracturing has been carried out. Based on this, a new theoretical model has been proposed. The new theoretical model adopts the principle of minimum principal stress failure. Compared with the minimum tangential stress failure criterion adopted by the existing methods, the mechanics mechanism in hydraulic fracturing process is more objectively described. In order to illustrate the work steps and the feasibility of the method, genetic algorithm inversion technique is used in this paper to test the assumed state of geostress. The trial results show that this method is feasible.
