【Abstract】A harmonious society is a beautiful social form that people intend to create whose main form of expression is that everyone can pay attention to social morality， thus it can reflect the humanity of society. With the continuous development of economy and culture， people’s moral literacy should be correspondingly improved. This paper mainly analyzes the current indifference in society， and on this basis， it puts forward some thoughts that aim to appeal to people to enhance their sense of social responsibility and reduce the occurrence of social indifference.

The phenomenon of moral indifference refers to the phenomenon of numbness in moral behavior when people face moral contradiction. Nowadays， there are some cases of violation of social morality in society， such as not helping others when they encounter danger and lack of honesty. It can be seen that moral indifference is becoming increasingly serious. The formation of moral indifference is closely related to people’s modern life pattern and moral reward and punishment system.
Ⅰ. The phenomenon of apathy existing in the society
The first is that respect for the elderly and care for parents is becoming less common， both in urban and rural areas， where many people forget how to fulfill their obligations as their children. Some people feel that there is a certain level of generation gap between them and their parents. In the process of communication with their parents， they are always impatient and lack certain patience and responsibility， which often makes some old people feel sad.
Another kind of social indifference is mainly manifested in the social environment that means people show indifference to those who are not directly related to themselves. For example， when taking a bus， the question of whether or not to give up the elderly has caused many people to debate and think. Although in some cases there is no obligation for young people to make seats for some seniors， on the moral level， some people will consider themselves first when circumstances permit， so they will not help the older or any other persons who needs the seat， which also reflects the current indifference of the society.
Ⅱ. The causes of the various phenomena of the social apathy
ⅰ.The impact of some current situations on social ethics
Social ethics is a code of conduct to adjust the relationship between people and society， which is also an effective means to improve the level of social morality. In today’s society， many behaviors with ethical norms have gradually become rationalized. This phenomenon has a great impact on social ethics. Over time， when social events such as elderly people who need help to fall， people’s response will gradually become flat， which makes the social ethics suffered unprecedented impact.
