The Gallo Class Galowayinela has long been regarded as the fossil of the Changxing order and is the symbol of Changxing’s bottom boundary. The section of Qibao in Shanggao, Jiangxi indicates that the Galowayinela enrichment layer is not as stable as previously thought and has at least two layers in this section: the lower layer is under the Clarkinaleveni belt with typical Wujiaping period ammonites above and below (Konglingites, etc.); Upper and Wujiaping period conodonts Clarkinaorientalis, C. guangyuanensis, C. demicornis, C. liangshanensis coexist. This fact shows that Galowayinelameitienensis is Wujiaping period instead of Changxing period. For this reason, it is suggested that the bottom boundary of the Changxing order need not be defined in the genus Clark, but rather in the form of Clarkinasubcarinata and / or C. wii’s first appearance prevail.
