通过大理松毛坡盆地下更新统中两个煤层(K_1、K_2)层面的趋势面分析,发现两者的趋势面偏差图中正负值圈闭区呈规则排列,反映了K_1、K_2地层的形变在趋势掀斜的背景上还存在次级的隆起和拗陷,其形成与断裂的水平扭动产生的应力场一致。根据K_1、K_2次级隆起和拗陷轴向的差异,认为在早更新世中期红河断裂的水平扭动方式发生了改变,在此之前其运动形式可能为左旋,此后表现为右旋,这种右旋运动一直延续到现今。
