Objective: To study the effect of β-boswellic acid (β-BA) on the hemorrheology and endothelial function in blood stasis rats. Methods: Twenty-four SD rats were randomly divided into 4 groups: blank control group, model group, low dose β-BA (100 mg / kg) group and high dose β-BA , Administered once every 12 hours and continuously administered 7 times. After the fifth administration, rats were given subcutaneous injection of epinephrine hydrochloride (0.8 mg / kg) twice a day for 4 hours after the fifth administration, Ice water (0-2 ℃) for 5 minutes to stimulate the rat model of acute blood stasis. The whole blood viscosity (WBV), blood coagulation index, plasma endothelin-1 (ET-1) and nitric oxide (NO) concentrations at different shear rates were measured in the abdominal aorta within 30 minutes after the last administration. Carotid artery pathological changes. Results: Compared with the blank control group, the whole blood viscosity of the model group was significantly increased (P <0.01), the thrombin time (PT), prothrombin time (PT) and APTT were significantly shortened (P <0.01). The content of fibrinogen (FIB) increased (P <0.01), plasma ET-1 level increased and plasma NO level decreased (P <0.01). Compared with the model group, the whole blood viscosity of β-BA group was significantly decreased, TT, APTT and PT were significantly prolonged (P <0.01), fibrinogen content was decreased (P <0.01), plasma ET-1 level was decreased and plasma NO level Increased (P <0.01). CONCLUSION: β-boswellic acid can significantly improve the abnormal blood rheology in blood stasis rats and protect the vascular endothelial function.
